Oprah Winfrey sends white flowers to Graceland for her ‘Cuz’ Lisa Marie Presley’s last resting place.

Lisa Marie Presley’s memorial service concluded on Sunday, January 22, at Meditation Garden, and was a celebration of her life. Along with her family and friends, several renowned people attended the public service. Oprah Winfrey’s white floral arrangement was among the presents left at the tomb. Winfrey and Presley have a long history, with the latter having interviewed the former four times throughout the years.

According to Ace Showbiz, the daytime program host was unable to attend in person, so she sent flowers instead. Elvis’ daughter was buried close to her son Benjamin Keough, and Winfrey’s flowers were placed between the mother and son’s tombs. Elvis, as well as her grandparents, Vernon and Gladys, were buried on the same grounds.

On Oprah Daily, Winfrey also issued a statement regarding Presley’s passing. The two of us really hit it off,” the statement reads about Lisa Marie Presley and herself. My maternal relatives were also Presleys, therefore we referred to each other as “Cuz.” While Henry Louis Gates acknowledged that we were not related, we loved to imagine we were. We had many chats over the years—on camera, off camera, and even on hikes—and she was always completely real. “Cuz,” take care of yourself. Blessings to Priscilla and her three daughters, Riley, Finley, and Harper.”

Winfrey and Presley have interacted and discussed a wide range of topics in recent years. Presley told Winfrey that her birth and subsequent superstar status had not been her cup of tea. “I have to say it’s bothering,” Presley stated, adding, “I’m not someone who desires or needs attention… I’ve never been one of those folks who run around from red carpet to red carpet… I’m just not the type of person that seeks attention.”

Despite being the daughter of an internationally recognized artist, Presley was given as normal a childhood as possible by her mother Priscilla. “She was steadfast. “She put [me] in a regular school…and I don’t feel like I was that exposed or had that much of an eye on me as a kid, thank God,” Presley added.

Presley also made it a point to express her gratitude for the positive response to her songs and the acceptance of her artistic identity, which differed from her father’s. “He had his way, my mom had her way, and I’ve got my little way that I’m doing my thing over here. On the other side of it, having people be impacted by it and respond to my music because of whatever I say in my song means a lot to me,” she said.
